The data of each player helps us to make many decisions. For example, adjusting the intensity of the sessions and generating recovery strategies, taking into account the position of each player and the demands on the player within our game system. We relate the data obtained with other factors such as the age of the player, their injury history, the number of games played, the stage of the season (pre-season or regular season) and the importance of the next game compared to others.
We have used the SPT GPS units over the 18/19 campaign with the Galway Camogie Squads, both intermediate and senior. We have been using them to help better program the players pitch sessions and aid their recover on and off the field.Read more
We have used SPT to gauge programming on and off the field and assess whether we need to give the girls a little bit of a lighter session or ramp things up. We monitor our pitch sessions so we can determine which players need a little more conditioning and those that need to get their feet up for a session or two. It has helped massively in terms of soft tissue injuries and overall, our injury count in all squads has been down since we have started using the SPT units.
For the players, they can both access their results through an app and also receive them in a PDF form. This opens up positive conversations as the player can see their results straight away after sessions once the data is uploaded to the Bridge. It has been unbelievable that the players can access their data right away and that they can then question the coaching staff on how to improve on certain aspects of their performance.
The SPT GPS units have been a valuable addition to the high performance program at the Northern Blues Football Club. The data attained from the GPS enable us to monitor training and match workloads for individuals within our playing group which help with decisions around player preparation and recovery.Read more
The GameTraka software has proved to be beneficial during sessions to look at live data and make adjustments as necessary based on actual loads. Additionally, the players can make their own account and access their numbers as soon as data is uploaded, which gives them feedback on their physical performance.
The VSS platform gives a comprehensive analysis of the distances and speeds from each session and allows us to produce a customised report to be presented to coaches and players.
Overall, the SPT product is pivotal to our player monitoring and management.
SPT2 has allowed us to effectively track player loads at Melbourne University Women's Football Club (VFLW) through its simple to use software. The devices are durable and cost-effective allowing us to use them across the full squad at training and games.Read more
They allow us to monitor training load metrics and give us with the numbers to help us provide our athletes with the correct training stimulus to ensure adaptions are occurring without overtraining.
If you want to investigate your data further, the VSS allows the export of data to excel which can then be input into load monitoring spreadsheets to enhance your ability to analyse data and manage athletes.
I would highly recommend SPT to various team based field sports of all levels, from local to elite level.

For coaching purposes the stats allow me to plan out better suited trainings which ultimately keep the girls fit but also ready to get the best results during games.
We use SPT to gain valuable information on our players, particularly those in similar size and stature which also enables some healthy competition between the boys. SPT was first used during our premiership season in 2018. The players certainly appreciated having access to the new technology and receiving that immediate feedback certainly put an edge on their opponents.Read more
As a club, we have seen our players run harder and clock up higher work rates and appreciate the quality insights we are now receiving for each individual that wears the units.
